Academy Sports + Outdoors to open first location in Greensboro, NC
Store will bring 100 new jobs and mark the company’s seventh location in North Carolina
KATY, TX (June 23, 2016) – Academy, Ltd. (d/b/a Academy Sports + Outdoors), a premier
sports, outdoor and lifestyle retailer, announced that it will open its first store in Greensboro, NC
at Sapp Rd. & Wendover Ave. in 2017.

The new location will be nearly 63,000 square feet and bring approximately 100 jobs to the
area. The store will offer similar services to the existing North Carolina locations such as scope
mounting, bore sighting, line winding/spooling, propane exchange, racquet stringing and will sell
hunting and fishing licenses along with local team licensed apparel and novelty items.
