Academy Sports + Outdoors to open first location in Columbia, MO
Store will bring 100 new jobs to the area and mark the company’s seventh location in Missouri
KATY, TX (June 22, 2016) – Academy, Ltd. (d/b/a Academy Sports + Outdoors), a premier
sports, outdoor and lifestyle retailer, announced that it will open its first store in Columbia at Hwy
63 & I-70 next year. Along with the recently announced Liberty and Manchester locations, this
will mark the company’s seventh store in the in the state of Missouri.

The new location will be nearly 63,000 square feet and bring approximately 100 jobs to the
area. The store will offer similar services to the existing Missouri locations such as scope
mounting, bore sighting, line winding/spooling, propane exchange, racquet stringing and will sell
hunting and fishing licenses along with local team licensed apparel and novelty items.
