Store will bring 100 new jobs to the area and mark the company’s sixth location in Kansas
KATY, TX (June 22, 2016) – Academy, Ltd. (d/b/a Academy Sports + Outdoors), a premier
sports, outdoor and lifestyle retailer, announced that it will open its first store in Manhattan, KS
at Hwy 24 E. Poyntz Ave. & Sarber Ln. next year. This will mark the company’s sixth store in the
state of Kansas.

The new location will be nearly 63,000 square feet and bring approximately 100 jobs to the
area. The store will offer similar services to the existing Kansas locations such as scope
mounting, bore sighting, line winding/spooling, propane exchange, racquet stringing and will sell
hunting and fishing licenses along with local team licensed apparel and novelty items.
