Academy Sports + Outdoors to open first location in Brunswick, GA
Store will bring 100 new jobs to the area and mark the company’s 15th location in Georgia
KATY, TX (June 21, 2016) – Academy, Ltd. (d/b/a Academy Sports + Outdoors), a premier
sports, outdoor and lifestyle retailer, announced that it will open its first store in Brunswick, Ga.
(Golden Isles Pkwy. & Canal Rd.) later this year. Along with the recently announced Kennesaw
store, this will mark the company’s 15th location in Georgia.
“Academy Sports + Outdoors is excited to continue our expansion in Georgia with the opening

The new location will be nearly 63,000 square feet and bring approximately 100 jobs to the
area. The store will offer similar services to the existing Georgia and Jacksonville, FL locations
such as scope mounting, bore sighting, line winding/spooling, propane exchange, racquet
stringing and will sell hunting and fishing licenses along with local team licensed apparel and
novelty items.
